Fourth Year Hike

So last Thursday through Saturday morning Amy and I was on the Fourth Year Hike for Girls Camp. I know in some places the Fourth years don't go on a hike before camp but our stake does. So we helped did the latrine. That was exciting since they were using our broken shovel. Our whole group played (poked) the fire a lot. We also made glass/plastic rocks from burning basicly all our trash. The adults on our trip were very funny. Just a note don't walk up behind someone (who has ear plugs in) at night after they finish using the latrine... they scream. We crossed the same river 48 time withing the 2 days of backpacking. Amy and I jumped off a waterfall (in the process of getting up to the jumping area i'm pretty sure I got poison oak). I was the gate person which ment that I got out of the car and opened the gate letting everyone through. Amy and I rode up with the Stake President, his wife, and another couple that is in the ward after us (and have a son that Amy and I go to seminary with...weird).  I have some cuts on my leg, a blister on my heel that opened and now is a scab, and I'm waiting for what poison oak I go to show up. Amy has a little more cuts on her legs then me and probably didn't get posion oak. Isn't backpacking with a bunch of girls fun (there was only 5 fourth years on the trip the other 13 was youth leaders and adult leaders)?

Random Law

Hey This is Amanda. In 7th grade my teacher read random facts well on section of the book was laws and here's a law that makes you wonder why in the world would people make this a law (and it's sort of creepy seeing how the police have to enforce it). So the law is that in the state of California it is illegal to eat oranges while showering. Come on who cares if you eat oranges in shower and who wants to enforce it with the factor of who would even think to eat an orange in the shower? Share if you know any ramdon law that does not make sense or random facts that you know. Random facts are great to know to start a conversation.

Peach Crisp

Today I decided for my Individual Worth Project I would learn how to manage a home through cooking, cleaning, and planning. Learning these skills will help me prepare to be a mother and for when I go to collage or a missioin. So today I set the table, made Peach Crisp and cleaned the dishes. Setting the table and cleaning the dishes was easy. Making Peach Crisp was a little harder mainly because my mom was giving verbal instructions. Here's the recipie.
1/3 cup of Oats
1/3 cup of Flour
1/3 cup of Brown Sugar
1/4 cup of Butter
you can put Cinamion in it
I don't have a measuement sorry
Here's a picture of it
hey yall! this is kiff i just got on this blog for the first time! pleaz let me know how many of you are on this blog! im curious!

Pantry

Hey this is Amanda (I know you're probably tired of reading what I type, but if you posted it wouldn't be just me). So since my family moved to Carmel Valley California we have been working on our house. my dad did most of the work but I helped with some flooring (I prefered electrical better). I have done more of the cleaning with my mom then the fixing with my dad and Amy. That's not what I was going to talk about... so yesterday my dad (and Amy) finished our pantry so that we can close a door (and lock our little sister and cats out). I have some pictures. Next we move food storage downn stairs (everytime we move it my mom says it's the last time... it never is). after food storage is the laundry room. The work never ends (maybe by the time Amy and I graduate from high school). I don;t do outdoor work after my little sister hit me in the head with A LOG WHILE THE WATER WAS SHUT OFF. Yeah bleeding head, not water to clean my head... yeah not a good mixture. Right pictures of the pantry...

Temple trip

Hey all this is Amanda. Today Amy and I went to the Oakland Temple. We had a youth temple trip there. It was so much fun. We had 6 girls and 3 guys come. All 6 girls piled into a car while the guys and a couple leaders got into another. Suprisingly the ride up was sort of quiet. Even more suprising was the car ride back alsmost all the girls fell asleep (Amy read up and back). So a total of 4 hours in the car for the temple add another hour (half an hour to the church and a half hour back) thats how much riding in the car I did today. We stopped at In-n-Out Burger on the way back (Bishop's treat). One of the guy's dad bought chocolate from the temple cafeteria which he gave out to all the youth (and his wife). Amy changed as soon as we were in the car. She confused so many people when we got to In-n-Out because they wondered when she changed. Yeah fun day.

Seminary

"Young people, I ask you to participate in seminary. Study your scriptures daily. Listen to your teachers carefully. Apply what you learn prayerfully."
-President Thomas S. Monson
I found this quote in lds.seminary.org
I agree completely. We should participate in seminary and if that is too hard to do then just listen and take notes. Most of us have 3-4 more years of seminary so try to learn the scripture mastery and learn from what we will be learning on Christ's life in the New Testimant. Seminary really isn't that boring it's almost like efy your with your friends learning the gospel and how it applys to us. Please listen to your seminary teacher this year it will make a differance in your life.

MUFFINS!!!!

Hey this is Amanda. This morning I made muffins! I made muffins for almost no reason except I didn't want an egg sandwich or cereral (sorry horrably spelled wrong and I don't know how its spelled). Heres a picture of the muffins.
Here's the recipie for basic muffins:
2 cups of flour
1/4 cup of sugar
1 Tablespoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 egg beaten
1 cup of milk
1/4 cup of oil (I use vegtable oil, I hope that's the right oil)
Mix ingredents together. batter will be lumpy. spoon into greased muffin cups 2/3 full. Bake 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Makes 12-15 muffins. (I add chocolate chips and what ever I want into them)
enjoy them they are really good

cool quote

"You young men of the priesthood, resolve to live the way you should. Don't be caught up in some of the silly things that are going on in the world, but bear in mind what has been given to you."
-David B. Haight
