Cool news

Hey all this is Amanda. I have completely finished all the requirements for the honor bee. One day I will actually get it, but I am the first in our ward to get the honor bee which is exciting.

Happy Halloween

Hey I just want to wish you all a very Happy Halloween! Be safe and don't eat too much candy (also would be a good idea to not to stay up too late or else school will be more tortuous tomarrow).

School...so far

Hey all this is Amanda. School started 6 weeks ago. First quarter done. I love most of my classes. The only classes I don;t like as much is World History and Geometry. History class is always interesting but it is sort of hard, world history just doesn;t stuck stuck in my head. Geometry isn't hard, but the way my teacher explains it I don't understand...suprisingly I have an A in that class. Photography and band are my favorite classes. I have some awsome pictures...just have to work on not getting fingerprints on the film... I have all A's except for one B. Remember to post and update everyone.

Summer Update

Hey this is Amanda. So I got home on Sunday had 15 minutes before we left to get to church for the last couple minutes of sunday school. Lots of people were suprised to see me home. Amy and I were on trek last Thursday, Fiday, and Saturday. I loved trek. We had to cross 2 "rivers", walk about 13 miles (7 on the first day), learned a bunch of cool stuff like rope making and how to make shingles, the was a ho-down. I had to call one of my second cousins pa and another second cousin's wife ma (her husband sprained an ankle right before trek). There was a lighting storm the first night so we all "slept" in a barn. Since there was a lot of our family on trek our family had to have a fake name (there were three Chapman couples). I just got braces on all my teeth so four more were added. Now my teeth hurt a lot, but thats mostly because of the rubber bands I now need to wear... Hey now people can tell us apart (sorry that took a while for me to figure out). Please blog about your summer.

Fourth of July

Happy Fourth of July everyone! This is Amanda. Have a nice day. Blog about what you do today. Or any cool trips that you have been on. right now Amy and I are now at our grandparent's house in a town near San Diego called San Marcos. We have been to the Zoo and the Wild Animal Park (it is basicly like the zoo except with bigger inclosures) I'll post pictures when I can take the pictures off of  my phone. Yesterday we went to the Musem of Making Music it was awsome it had a bunch of old instruments and places where you could play instruments. Again I'll post pictures when I can get them off of my phone. Have a great summer everybody!!!

Fourth Year Hike

So last Thursday through Saturday morning Amy and I was on the Fourth Year Hike for Girls Camp. I know in some places the Fourth years don't go on a hike before camp but our stake does. So we helped did the latrine. That was exciting since they were using our broken shovel. Our whole group played (poked) the fire a lot. We also made glass/plastic rocks from burning basicly all our trash. The adults on our trip were very funny. Just a note don't walk up behind someone (who has ear plugs in) at night after they finish using the latrine... they scream. We crossed the same river 48 time withing the 2 days of backpacking. Amy and I jumped off a waterfall (in the process of getting up to the jumping area i'm pretty sure I got poison oak). I was the gate person which ment that I got out of the car and opened the gate letting everyone through. Amy and I rode up with the Stake President, his wife, and another couple that is in the ward after us (and have a son that Amy and I go to seminary with...weird).  I have some cuts on my leg, a blister on my heel that opened and now is a scab, and I'm waiting for what poison oak I go to show up. Amy has a little more cuts on her legs then me and probably didn't get posion oak. Isn't backpacking with a bunch of girls fun (there was only 5 fourth years on the trip the other 13 was youth leaders and adult leaders)?

Random Law

Hey This is Amanda. In 7th grade my teacher read random facts well on section of the book was laws and here's a law that makes you wonder why in the world would people make this a law (and it's sort of creepy seeing how the police have to enforce it). So the law is that in the state of California it is illegal to eat oranges while showering. Come on who cares if you eat oranges in shower and who wants to enforce it with the factor of who would even think to eat an orange in the shower? Share if you know any ramdon law that does not make sense or random facts that you know. Random facts are great to know to start a conversation.
